What is an Index?

An index is a physical structure containing pointers to the data. Indices are created in an existing table to locate rows more quickly and efficiently. It is possible to create an index on one or more columns of a table, and each index is given a name. The users cannot see the indexes; they are just used to speed up queries. Effective indexes are one of the best ways to improve performance in a database application. A table scan happens when there is no index available to help a query. In a table scan, the SQL Server examines every row in the table to satisfy the query results. Table scans are sometimes unavoidable, but on large tables, scans have a terrific impact on performance.

Both of them provide the same HTML output, “HTML.TextBoxFor” is strongly typed while “HTML.TextBox” isn’t. Below is a simple HTML code which just creates a simple textbox with “CustomerCode” as name. Html.TextBox("CustomerCode") Below is “Html.TextBoxFor” code which creates HTML textbox using the property name ‘CustomerCode” from object “m”. Explain what is the difference between View and Partial View?

View: It contains the layout page. Before any view is rendered, viewstart page is rendered. View might have markup tags like body, html, head, title, meta etc. View is not lightweight as compare to Partial View. Partial View: It does not contain the layout page. Partial view does not verify for a viewstart.cshtml.We cannot put common code for a partial view within the viewStart.cshtml.page.
